Runaway Casters Cause Problems in National Home Improvement Retailer
A national retailer that caters to do-it-yourselfers and construction professionals was having an issue with runaway carts. In their distribution centers, they operated carts equipped with 8" x 2" commodity casters with nylon wheels. The carts presented a serious safety issue because they tended to roll away while being loaded.
Caster Connection consulted with the retailer, and recommended that they add CCTECH-LOCK brakes to their casters. The client tried a set of brakes on their casters, and discovered that the brakes immediately solved their safety issue, eliminating carts rolling away and possibly injuring people or damaging equipment.
The retailer was so satisfied with Caster Connection’s solution that they added brakes to all of the swivel casters on all of the carts at the facility, as well as to the carts at a number of their other distribution centers.
