CC Apex ESD (Electrostatic Dissipating) Caster Wheel Overview

Caster Connection’s CC Apex ESD (electrostatic dissipating) wheel offers the same ergonomic, noise-reducing, and durability qualities as the original CC Apex, but with the added benefit of being electrostatic dissipating.

CC Apex ESD wheels are made of a mixture of CC polyurethane and electrostatic dissipating compounds - meaning that ESD qualities exist throughout the entire wheel tread, so the wheel’s ESD qualities will never be worn down. These wheels are non-marking, and leave no airborne particles or other residue. This is particularly important in clean rooms and other environments where this kind of contamination is especially disruptive or catastrophic.

Electrostatic dissipative material conducts electricity, with a surface resistivity of equal to or greater than 10^5 ohms, but less than 10^12 ohms. This material is prescribed for discharge-safe areas because it allows static electricity to flow through the caster wheels and into conductive flooring. It is highly recommended that all casters on a cart (or other fixture) in an electrostatic discharge-safe area are electrostatic dissipative, in order to strive for maximum contact with conductive flooring.
