Auto Manufacturer Mistakes Orange Wheel for CC Apex

Due to the success and recognizable orange color of Caster Connection's CC Apex caster wheel, numerous manufacturers have come out with their inferior version of the product by mimicking its orange color. There are a lot of orange wheels out there, but only one CC Apex.

This lesson was learned the hard way when a large auto manufacturer purchased what they thought were CC Apex wheels for some of their carts.

The problems with the knock off casters started immediately. The carts weighed 1178 lbs. which were above the limits for the knock off orange caster. The employees moving the carts were also experiencing serious push/pull problems. A Caster Connection solutions representative recognized what was going on and recommended the real CC Apex wheel with a CC Peak maintenance-free fork. The maintenance free fork provides added ergonomics/maneuverability. This is due to the caster rig’s construction which allows for even dispersion of the load. This greatly reduces push/pull even more than a kingpinless caster rig.

As a result, the carts were able to get below their ergonomic threshold, carry more weight, and the employees were able to maneuver the carts with ease.

Have you noticed caster wheels with "APEX" haphazardly placed in their descriptions on Amazon.com and elsewhere? Do these caster wheels look as shiny as a bowling ball? If so, there's a good chance that you've seen a knockoff of the CC Apex.

These knockoffs are commonly incredibly poor ergonomic performers, break down quickly, damage flooring, and put out incredibly high decibel levels.
