How-to Install A Quick-change Caster Pad For 2-3/8” X 3-5/8” Top Plate
A quick-change caster pad is designed to mount onto a cart or application where you may need to replace casters often. Caster pads allow the removal and attachment of casters, with minimal removal and reinsertion of nuts and screws. For this demonstration, we will give you step-by-step instructions on how-to install a quick-change caster pad for a 2-3/8” x 3-5/8” top plate.
The CP006, quick-change caster pad, has a bolt-hole pattern of 1-3/4” x 2-1/4” and is attached to an equipment using a 5/16” square head bolt.
STEP 1
Slide a plate mount caster in from the spring clip side of the quick-change plate. When the plate is completely inserted, the spring clip should secure the caster's plate mount in place.
STEP 2
To release the caster from the quick-change caster pad, lift the spring clip, and the plate mount caster can be removed the same way it was inserted.
Tip: If the quick-change caster pad is already attached to a material handling application, safely raise the application at a stable/secure height before installation or removal of the caster.
CONCLUSION
For this demonstration, we used Caster Connection’s 5” x 1-1/4” CC Apex swivel caster – CCAPEX-525S. If you prefer to use a rigid caster, Caster Connection’s CCAPEX-525R will also work with the CP006 quick-change caster pad. You can also use Caster Connection’s 4” x 1-1/4” CC Apex swivel and rigid caster, if desired. Both CCAPEX-425S and CCAPEX-425R casters have a top plate size of 2-3/8” x 3-5/8”. Choose the wheel diameter that complies with your overall height and caster configuration requirements.
